BBC News Website today – “Bush Condemns Bullying Russia”

US President George W Bush has accused Russia of “bullying and intimidation” in its military actions inside Georgia.

Mr Bush demanded that Moscow respect Georgia’s territorial integrity and withdraw the troops it sent in a week ago – or risk international isolation.”

President Bush is particularly well placed to scold Russia; he knows something about bullying, intimidation and international isolation.

Imagine this:

A powerful sovereign nation unilaterally exercises its hegemony over a small Third World nation. It invades its territory, occupies its land, destroys its infrastructure and severely diminishes its own international prestige and credibility, given that its actions are premised upon pretext and outright lies. Sound familiar?

Shame on Russia. The US should maintain the moral high ground and demonstrate its outrage – from within the Green Zone!
